Zivid, provider of 3D vision cameras, has announced the opening of a new office in Tokyo, Japan, in response to growing demand for 3D robot vision solutions in industrial settings. This marks Zivid’s third office in the Asia-Pacific region, following its establishments in China and South Korea. The company aims to enhance its reach within Japan, a country advanced in industrial automation and robotics.
Mikkel Orheim, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Zivid, emphasized that the Tokyo office represents a strategic move to scale the company’s 3D vision solutions and strengthen relationships with Japanese customers. Zivid views Japan as a key market for expanding its automation and artificial intelligence offerings.
To lead the company’s efforts in Japan, Zivid has appointed Kazuto Kurosawa as Sales Director. Kurosawa has over a decade of experience in technical sales, having worked with companies in the automation sector, including Exotec, Dassault Systèmes, and MUJIN Inc. He expressed enthusiasm about introducing Zivid’s technology to address the complexities of Japan’s automation market.
In addition to the office opening, Zivid plans to hire local field application engineers to support its expansion. The company’s most recent product, the Zivid 2+, a 3D camera designed for machine vision applications, was launched last year. It offers high resolution, accuracy, and quality for use in sectors such as eCommerce, logistics, and manufacturing.
