UK-based AI and robotics startup Humanoid has released a video showcasing its first general-purpose humanoid robot, HMND 01. The video highlights the robot’s mechanical design, motion control capabilities, and AI integration, demonstrating its potential for human-robot collaboration.
Humanoid was founded in 2024 by entrepreneur Artem Sokolov with the goal of developing scalable and safe humanoid robots. The company’s latest model, HMND 01, stands 175 cm tall, weighs 70 kg, and has a walking speed of 1.5 meters per second. It has a runtime of approximately four hours and a payload capacity of 15 kg. The robot is designed for industrial applications such as goods handling, picking and packing, kitting, and part handling, with potential use cases in retail, logistics, and manufacturing.
According to Sokolov, Humanoid is working on two prototype platforms, wheeled and bipedal, and is in discussions with retail companies for potential pilot projects. The company emphasizes a modular design approach, allowing customers to configure different body components and end-effectors based on specific needs. HMND 01 also includes interchangeable protective garments designed to safeguard its systems and its operating environment. Humanoid aims to offer robots with a low total cost of ownership to support automation in various industries. The company plans to further develop and test its alpha prototype in 2025.
