UBTECH, a robotics company specializing in humanoid technology, showcased its latest humanoid robots and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions at LEAP 2025 in Saudi Arabia. The company introduced its Humanoid Robot Industrial Application Solution, featuring the Walker S series, Panda Robot Youyou, and its advanced humanoid robot Una, alongside AI education tools for various educational levels.
UBTECH presented its Humanoid Robot Industrial Application Solution, designed for multi-task industrial scenarios, in the Middle East for the first time. This solution integrates UBTECH’s advancements in embodied intelligence, enabling robots to perform tasks in industrial settings. It has already been implemented in BYD factories.
During the event, UBTECH demonstrated two units of the Walker S1, which performed tasks including parcel handling and SPS (small parts sorting). The Walker S1 employs VSLAM semantic technology and full-body motion control to handle cartons up to 15 kilograms. For sorting tasks, the robot features self-developed humanoid hands that adjust grip strength for precise object handling.
Since 2024, UBTECH has collaborated with companies such as Audi FAW, BYD, Geely Auto, Foxconn, SF Express, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao Branch, BAIC BJEV, and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor to develop humanoid robot applications. The Walker S series is reportedly utilized across various automobile manufacturing lines, with over 500 orders placed by electric vehicle manufacturers.
Introduction of New Humanoid Robots
UBTECH also presented its Panda Robot Youyou and Una at LEAP 2025. Panda Robot Youyou, previously an ambassador at Expo 2020 Dubai, showcased its capabilities in beverage serving and audience interaction.
Una, a humanoid robot developed in-house, was introduced for the first time at the event. Designed for services such as emotional companionship, entertainment, and reception, Una features natural language processing capabilities.
In addition to industrial applications, UBTECH introduced its AI education solutions for primary, secondary, vocational, and higher education. The company’s offerings include curriculum development, hardware, software, and training tools designed to integrate AI and robotics into educational environments.
For younger students, UBTECH offers products like the Yanshee series (humanoid desktop robots), UGOT series (multi-mimetic robots), and uKit series (construction robots). These tools provide hands-on experiences in AI, robotics, autonomous driving technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
For vocational and higher education, UBTECH provides training with the Walker S1 and intelligent service robots, focusing on AI research, teaching, and industrial training. The company also supports the Robo Genius (RoboG) robotics competition, an international platform for youth engagement in robotics.
Presence in the Middle East and Future Plans
UBTECH has an established presence in the Middle East, having previously deployed its robots at events such as the Dubai Expo and Riyadh Season. The company’s Walker X robots were also exported to NEOM, Saudi Arabia’s planned smart city.
As of June 2024, UBTECH holds over 2,450 patents related to robotics and AI, with nearly 60% classified as invention patents. The company continues to develop technologies aimed at expanding humanoid robot applications from industrial manufacturing to commercial and household settings.
