Research: Acceleration of automation due to impact of Covid-19
Guidance Automation announced the findings of its latest research regarding the growth of the intralogistics automation sector. Undertaken by SAPIO Research during April 2021, the research explores the importance of intralogistics automation including the role of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) within companies that have a warehouse, fulfilment, production or distribution, and were in operation during the pandemic.

Pegasystems announced it has been chosen by the Royal Navy (RN) and the Royal Air Force (RAF) to develop a new, joint low-code platform for candidate recruitment. The new application will be built on Pega Customer Service Digital Customer Engagement Edition, a bespoke public sector application that will help the RN and the RAF to provide a better experience for both candidates and recruiters, significantly improve the existing recruitment cycles, and provide reporting analytics for greater insights on the process.

By way of the SPARTN Fire Faster program, the Army Applications Laboratory managed a competitive process in which hundreds of potential industry partners were evaluated before selecting and funding five companies to lead the artillery loading modernization effort.

They can be used to analyze digital images of tumor biopsy samples, helping physicians quickly classify the type of cancer, predict prognosis and guide a course of treatment for the patient. However, unless these algorithms are properly calibrated, they can sometimes make inaccurate or biased predictions.

Salesforce has announced it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Servicetrace, a provider of robotic process automation (RPA), which, upon closing of the acquisition, will become a part of MuleSoft, a Salesforce company. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2022, ending October 31, 2021, subject to customary closing conditions.
