Yantra replaces traditional navigation of robots with ‘Natural Feature’ technology
Guidance Automation has partnered with Yantra to upgrade their vehicle navigation options to include ‘natural feature’ navigation. Mapping algorithms enable the robots to navigate by reference to existing features within the working environment. No navigation marks are needed.

Strong robot sales in the third quarter of 2021 bring the total number of orders so far this year to nearly 29,000 units valued at $1.48 billion, the best numbers ever recorded for the North American robotics market. According to the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), these numbers show increases of 37% in units sold (up from 21,072) and 35% in value (up from $1.09 billion) over the same period in 2020 and surpass the previous highest record from 2017 by 5.8% and 0.5%.

Research: ‘52% of employees believe AI skills will make their job easier’
According to new global research from Digital Intelligence company ABBYY, 6-in-10 (61%) employees say their job is made more difficult through trouble accessing data in documents and nearly a quarter (24%) lose a full day of productivity per week searching documents for information they need to serve customers.

Gartner CIO Survey: IT budget will increase 3.7% in 2022, more spending on AI
Organisations must embrace business composability to thrive through disruption in 2022 and beyond, according to Gartner’s annual global survey of CIOs and technology executives. EMEA CIO respondents projected a 3.7% IT budget increase for 2022, on average, which is slightly higher than the average global IT budget growth (3.6%)

The market for professional service robots reached a turnover of 6.7 billion U.S. dollars worldwide – up 12% in 2020. At the same time, turnover of new consumer service robots grew 16% to 4.4 billion U.S. dollars. This is according to World Robotics 2021 – Service Robots report, presented by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR).
