Tesla has introduced an autonomous driving system that enables its vehicles to transport themselves from the factory floor to loading bays without human intervention. The company demonstrated this in a recently released video, showing a process that traditionally requires human drivers to relocate vehicles after production and quality control.
The system operates using an unsupervised version of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. Unlike the standard FSD mode, which requires a driver to be present and monitor the vehicle, this implementation allows cars to navigate factory premises entirely on their own. The vehicles can assess available space in loading bays and adjust their parking destination accordingly. The system also enables the cars to navigate intersections and avoid obstacles using Tesla’s AI-powered computer vision technology.
