by Marco van der Hoeven

Teledyne FLIR Defense has officially launched its new SUGV 325 portable and modular robot at Eurosatory. The SUGV 325 is a single-person-carry unmanned ground platform designed for versatile use in dismounted and mobile operations. Weighing approximately 20 pounds (9.1 kg) in its lightest configuration, the SUGV 325 is easily transportable and capable of traversing rough terrain and climbing stairs. Its advanced manipulator arm, featuring five degrees of freedom, allows users to perform delicate and complex tasks.

The SUGV 325 includes technology upgrades such as HD visible, long wave infrared (LWIR), and stitched 360-degree cameras, alongside 30x optical zoom and two-way audio communication. It is suited for various military applications, including surveillance, reconnaissance, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and remote Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) inspection.

Tung Ng, vice president of Unmanned Systems North America at Teledyne FLIR Defense, emphasized the enhanced portability and technology of the SUGV 325, which provide warfighters with a highly mobile system to ensure their safety during threat interrogation. The new robot can reach speeds of up to 7 mph (11.3 kph), is compatible with a wide range of payloads and accessories, and supports multi-robot control via the uPoint® Multi-Robot Control System. The system includes a tablet with touchscreen control and a hand-controller, scalable to various Android tablet sizes, and compatible with Nett Warrior and ATAK systems. The SUGV 325 also connects to the Wave Relay® MANET for network robustness and offers up to eight hours of battery operation.
