Service Robots Step into Spotlight at 137th Canton Fair

by Pieter Werner

At the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), held in Guangzhou, China, a new Service Robots Zone was introduced for the first time, highlighting developments in robotics for domestic and commercial applications. The 4,200-square-meter exhibition area featured 46 companies presenting robotic solutions for tasks such as coffee preparation, lawn maintenance, household cleaning, and food service.

AUBO Robotics presented a robotic coffee barista equipped with synchronized robotic arms and an autonomous learning system capable of handling the entire coffee-making process. The machine, designed for high-volume service, can produce up to 300 cups of coffee per day and includes real-time upgrade capabilities. AUBO also exhibited a massage robot at the event.

Dreame Technology displayed an AI-based weeding robot that uses 3D laser radar sensors and cameras to navigate and map outdoor environments. The device adjusts to varying terrain and grass height through a floating blade system and is operable without requiring installation.

Seauto Robots introduced its SAT 20 series of pool cleaning robots, designed with extended battery life and smart navigation systems to facilitate comprehensive cleaning. The units are equipped with multiple cleaning modes and automation features intended to reduce manual labor.

In the hospitality sector, Keenon Robotics demonstrated its T10 service robot, designed for use in restaurants. The robot can carry loads of up to 40 kilograms and maneuver through aisles as narrow as 59 centimeters. It includes a shock-absorption chassis and offers customization options for appearance and interaction.

The introduction of the Service Robots Zone reflects the Canton Fair’s effort to showcase new technologies and facilitate business connections in the robotics industry. Organizers positioned the zone as a platform for advancing global collaboration and adoption of robotics in daily life.
