A realistic warning against killer robots

The video Slaughterbots is now two years old, and more than two million people have watched it worldwide. This visual warning against the danger of autonomous weapons is still relevant today, and although protests against such weapons are growing, no official measures have yet been taken to ban autonomous weapons.

Existing technology

The seven-minute video was produced by the Future of Life Institute in collaboration with Berkeley University Professor Stuart Russell. Based on technology that already exists or is under development, the video provides a realistic picture of weapons that choose and disable targets themselves, based on social media profiles, among other things.
