Realbotix Montetizes Humanoid Aria on Social Media

Realbotix starts selling video messages by its AI-powered robot, Aria, on Cameo. This platform allows users to purchase personalized video messages from celebrities and public figures, with messages from Aria priced at $10 or more. This marks a novel use of AI technology on a service traditionally associated with human participants.

Aria’s intended role on Cameo includes creating custom video messages such as shoutouts, celebratory greetings, and motivational interactions. Realbotix emphasizes the robot’s advanced communication skills and lifelike demeanor as part of its mission to create socially intelligent robots that integrate seamlessly into human interactions.

Andrew Kiguel, CEO of Realbotix, described the move as a way to bridge the gap between human interaction and AI technology. He noted that Cameo offers a familiar and accessible avenue for people to engage with AI, fostering greater comfort and acceptance of robotics in everyday life. “Through Cameo, people get a chance to have personalized interaction with Aria, our socially intelligent robot,” Kiguel said, framing the initiative as part of the company’s broader effort to bring AI into the mainstream.

Aria is Realbotix’s ultra-realistic humanoid robot powered by “relationship-based AI.” Serving as both a brand ambassador and non-executive advisor, Aria showcases Realbotix’s focus on AI-driven social interactions rather than physical labor. Built with a proprietary language model, Aria interacts naturally and adapts to various social needs. Realbotix, originally a blockchain company, pivoted to robotics in 2020, acquiring Simulacra Corporation to advance its humanoid designs. While Aria cannot walk yet, the robot excels in realistic facial expressions and conversational capabilities, with plans for AI customization set for 2025.
