Rainbow Robotics, a Koreran robotics company, has initiated pre-orders for the Bimanual Mobile Manipulator RB-Y1. Pre-orders began on May 8, with the research platform available for $80,000 USD and the commercial platform priced at $120,000 USD, excluding VAT. Deliveries will start in October.
The RB-Y1, touted as ‘a research platform for AI experts’, features dual arms with seven degrees of freedom per arm, providing human-like movements. The robot’s design includes a humanoid form with a single leg offering six degrees of freedom on a mobile platform, granting a wide operational range. It incorporates a LiDAR system for autonomous movement, with optional 3D recognition sensors and a master ARM to enhance usability. Rainbow Robotics aims to provide various APIs and options, enabling AI developers to utilize the platform for research.
