Dane Technologies and Brain Corp will introduce the Dane AiR DC, an autonomous inventory scanning robot designed for use in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities. The new robotic solution aims to enhance inventory visibility and improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of inventory management processes.
The Dane AiR DC automates traditionally manual inventory tasks, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors. According to Dane Technologies, the system enables faster cycle counts with improved data accuracy while reducing operating costs. The robot features advanced scanning capabilities, including computer vision, RFID, and barcode scanning, allowing it to track inventory at both pallet and case levels. It can read barcodes with over 99.5% accuracy using Cognex technology and integrates seamlessly with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
The autonomous navigation of the Dane AiR DC is powered by BrainOS, Brain Corp’s robotics platform, which has accumulated over 20 million autonomous operating hours across more than 40,000 robots. The system is designed for efficiency, with a 10-hour battery life and an autonomous four-hour recharge cycle, enabling it to scan more than 200,000 square feet in under eight hours.
Dan Johnson, CEO of Dane Technologies, stated that inefficient inventory processes impact operational costs and that the Dane AiR DC provides accurate data and actionable insights to drive improvements across supply chains. Mark Garczewski, Vice President of Product at Brain Corp, emphasized that the solution enhances digital precision in inventory management, helping warehouses balance productivity and accuracy.
The robot offers a plug-and-play solution that requires no specialized infrastructure, distinguishing it from drone-based inventory solutions that have flight restrictions and runtime limitations. It is built on the same platform as the Dane AiR, a robotic inventory scanning system designed for retail environments, and features a compact design for navigation in dynamic warehouse settings.
