Oriental Motor Launches OVR Series small industrial robot

by Pieter Werner

Oriental Motor has introduced the OVR Series small industrial robots, developed for handling small parts in industrial applications. These robots are built using the company’s AlphaSTEP AZ Series Hybrid Step-Servo technology and are designed to provide a cost-effective and user-friendly alternative within the market for small industrial robots.

The OVR Series offers three types of robots tailored to meet various operational needs. The articulated robots, available in 4, 5, and 6-axis models, are designed with a versatile mechanism that supports a wide range of tasks. The SCARA robots feature a 3-axis configuration and a low-profile design, making them suitable for operations in tight or confined spaces. The Cartesian robots come pre-assembled with linear slides, streamlining the setup process and reducing labor requirements.

Control options for the OVR Series include the MRCU Series Integrated Robot Controllers, which combine the MRC01 Robot Controller with up to seven AZ Series DC-input mini drivers in a single, space-saving package. This integration simplifies wiring and is compatible with EtherNet/IP™ and I/O control systems. For managing Cartesian robots specifically, the MRC01-C Cartesian Robot Controller is available, offering direct programming and control capabilities via EtherNet/IP™. Both controllers are supported by the MRC Studio software, which facilitates pre-programming, testing, start-up, and maintenance tasks.

The OVR Series is designed to meet the growing demand for compact, efficient, and adaptable robotic solutions in industries requiring the handling of small parts, while also prioritizing ease of use and cost efficiency.
