Hesai Technology has entered into an agreement to exclusively supply more than 1.5 million lidar units to Changan Automobile for use across multiple vehicle brands. The deal focuses on Hesai’s ATX compact lidar, a model launched in April 2024, designed to support advanced intelligent driving systems. The supply will cover over 10 vehicle models, with the first set for mass production in the latter half of 2025.
The partnership builds on an earlier collaboration initiated in 2022, which saw the launch of the Changan Nevo E07, featuring Hesai’s AT128 lidars. The model debuted in October 2024 and has reportedly been well-received in the market. The ATX lidar technology is noted for its compact design and enhanced resolution, achieved through Hesai’s proprietary platform, which reduces the product’s size, weight, and power requirements.
Hesai’s ATX model is nearing mass production and has been selected by several automotive manufacturers for integration into their 2025 mass-production vehicles. This collaboration aims to improve road safety and expand access to advanced intelligent driving features via Changan Automobile’s technology platform.
