Onward Robotics will deploy its Lumabot autonomous mobile robots and Pyxis software at FST Logistics’ Columbus, Ohio, facility to automate order fulfillment and improve operational efficiency. The Meet Me automation platform is expected to reduce travel time and increase capacity for high-volume payloads, enhancing the supply chain operations of FST’s consumer packaged goods and e-commerce customers.
Scheduled for deployment in the first half of 2025, the Pyxis software will manage coordination between pickers and robots, optimizing workflows through proprietary algorithms. Workers will use a wearable device to interact with Lumabot’s put-to-light shelving system, a process designed to improve order accuracy and efficiency.
Zak Hancock, Chief Operating Officer at FST Logistics, said the company selected Onward Robotics’ technology to enhance picking and packing processes and to support its goal of improving fulfillment operations. Onward Robotics CEO Lance VandenBrook highlighted the scalability and cost-effectiveness of the automation solution, describing FST Logistics as a trusted partner in the industry.
