Circus Group has signed a preliminary agreement with the German catering company FLC Group to supply 100 of its food production robots CA-1, to support refugee accommodation centers in Germany. This deal, outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), could generate around EUR 20 million in revenue over the next few years.
The partnership will begin with a beta phase in 2025, where a single CA-1 unit will be tested in one of FLC Group’s kitchens. This trial will help determine how well the robot fits into their operations. If the test goes well, the plan is to roll out up to 100 CA-1 robots across various kitchen hubs. These robots are designed to prepare up to 2,000 meals daily in a compact space, helping improve efficiency, hygiene, and consistency in food services at refugee accommodations and other facilities like shelters and retirement homes.
FLC Group currently serves over 150,000 meals each month to refugee accommodations and shelters. By integrating Circus Group’s AI-driven technology, they aim to scale their operations more effectively. The CA-1 robot is expected to play a key role in this by operating in just seven square meters of space while delivering meal services on a large scale.
The MoU sets the stage for a future contract, although it isn’t legally binding yet. Circus Group, based in Hamburg, specializes in autonomous kitchen systems and is focused on improving access to balanced nutrition through innovative AI robotics.
