Brain Navi Biotechnology has announced the completion of its first procedure in the Netherlands using the NaoTrac surgical navigation robot. This procedure, a brain tumor biopsy, was performed at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. The NaoTrac robot utilizes machine vision technology to expedite patient and instrument registration, reducing the process to between 30 seconds and three minutes, which is intended to enhance safety and efficiency.

The procedure comes shortly after the company reported a total of 100 clinical cases using the NaoTrac robot. Dr. Jerry Chen, CEO of Brain Navi, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Erasmus MC and emphasized the potential benefits of NaoTrac for the Dutch market. He also mentioned plans to expand the company’s presence in other parts of Europe to assist more surgeons and patients with this technology.

Dr. Arnaud Vincent, a neurosurgeon at Erasmus MC, reported positive outcomes from the first surgery, noting that the procedure was efficient, taking less than an hour, and that the patient recovered well. He also highlighted the precision of the biopsy obtained with the assistance of the NaoTrac robot.
