Exotec Robots Surpass One Million Container Presentations Daily

by Pieter Werner

Exotec, a global provider of warehouse robotics, has reported that its Skypod robots now perform over one million container presentations daily across its global operations. This number illustrates the growing utilization of the Skypod robot in the supply chain . The system retrieves containers and delivers them to designated workstations, with each container capable of fulfilling up to four orders.

This approach reduces the physical demands on warehouse workers, significantly decreasing the need for manual picking. Workers using the goods-to-person system reportedly save thousands of steps daily, achieving a fivefold improvement in picking productivity compared to traditional methods.

Exotec’s operations have expanded rapidly since its founding, with the company reaching 100 million container presentations within five years. It now achieves that volume every three months. The company has also broadened its geographic presence, establishing larger offices in Atlanta and Munich and entering new markets such as Austria and South Korea.

With over 135 customer sites in regions including North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific, Exotec continues to grow its installation base. Its workforce has reached 1,300 employees, and the company anticipates a 25% increase in headcount in 2025 to meet rising demand.
