Delta Electronics introduced its Cognibot Kit at Hannover Messe 2025, presenting a new add-on that enhances its D-Bot series collaborative robots (cobots) with cognitive capabilities. The kit is designed to support functions such as voice command, 3D machine vision, and multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) interaction, with the aim of improving performance, adaptability, and safety in industrial settings.
The D-Bot series, which was initially presented at Hannover Messe 2024, has received design awards including the 2024 Red Dot Award: Best of the Best and the 2025 German Design Award. The newly introduced Cognibot Kit is intended to further develop the platform by adding sensory and AI-powered features that support human-robot collaboration.
According to Delta, the Cognibot Kit can be mounted directly on the robot flange and operates using the company’s Power AI Box. Features include a 360-degree microphone array for voice recognition, a 3D vision sensor for object and gesture detection, an integrated speaker for acoustic feedback, and wireless communication via Wi-Fi to reduce the need for physical cabling.
At the trade fair, Delta is demonstrating how its AI-enabled D-Bots operate in various manufacturing scenarios, with a focus on precision and safety. The company states that the solution is intended to meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in markets such as Germany where labor shortages present ongoing challenges. Delta also announced plans to expand its Intelligent Robot Systems team at its Stuttgart location in response to increased demand and development in this sector.
