Cobot Featured in AWS CEO Matt Garman’s re:Invent 2024 Keynote

by Pieter Werner

Cobot, a company specializing in collaborative robots, was featured in the keynote address by Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Matt Garman at AWS re:Invent 2024, held in Las Vegas. The keynote included a video presentation showing Cobot’s approach to robotics and included an interview with its CEO and Founder, Brad Porter. Porter, who previously spearheaded Amazon’s robotics initiatives, discussed the company’s vision for robotics that are both interactive and adaptable.

The presentation introduced Proxie, Cobot’s debut collaborative robot, which integrates the company’s proprietary technologies: the Embodied Empathy design philosophy, Glide 360 motion, Scout Sense perception technology, and the Future-Forward AI platform. Designed to address material movement tasks in dynamic settings, Proxie aims to operate effectively alongside human workers while overcoming limitations of existing robotic solutions such as single-use autonomous mobile robots or humanoid robots that are not yet optimized for human interaction. Proxie’s modular hardware and adaptable software enable scalability and ease of integration in various industries.

Cobot works with companies across sectors including healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing. Its Flywheel program supports partners in adopting robotics solutions and achieving returns on investment through automation. Customers include organizations such as Maersk, Mayo Clinic, Moderna, Owens & Minor, and Tampa General Hospital.

AWS re:Invent is an annual conference hosted by Amazon Web Services, showcasing advancements in cloud computing and attracting participants from across the global technology community.
