CES: LimX Dynamicsshows TRON 1 multi-modal biped robot

by Marco van der Hoeven

LimX Dynamics, a robotics company focused on general-purpose solutions, has announced the launch of TRON 1, a multi-modal biped robot. The company positions TRON 1 as a versatile platform for motion control and research in embodied intelligence.

TRON 1 features a modular “Three-In-One” design that supports three distinct foot-end configurations, allowing users to adapt the robot for various research and operational needs. The configurations include a Point-Foot option for basic control, a Sole option for humanoid-like movement, and a Wheeled mode for enhanced all-terrain mobility. The foot-end configurations can be quickly assembled or disassembled, with automatic hardware recognition and software adaptation enabling seamless transitions between modes.

Equipped with high-performance motion control algorithms, TRON 1 is designed for immediate use upon delivery, supported by a comprehensive user manual. The platform also features an open SDK and hardware interfaces, providing researchers with access to advanced joint actuators and control algorithms for enhanced performance and stability.

TRON 1 is designed to facilitate research in both model-based and learning-based robotics. It supports Python development for ease of use and offers one-click Sim2Real deployment, streamlining the validation of reinforcement learning algorithms. The platform is compatible with simulation tools such as NVIDIA Isaac, Mujoco, and Gazebo, providing developers with extensive resources and a cross-platform environment for algorithm development.
