As automation and robotics continue to transform industries worldwide, automatica 2025 will once again be the leading trade fair in this field. With around 750 exhibitors from over 30 countries, Munich will serve as a hub for innovation, networking, and business development. Once again Rocking Robots will report on this event as media partner. For this preview we spoke with Exhibition Director Anja Schneider.

As the robotics industry continues to evolve, automatica 2025 play a crucial role in bringing together key players, fostering innovation, and addressing pressing challenges. “automatica 2025 will once again be the leading trade fair for smart automation and robotics”, says Anja Schneider, Exhibition Director at Messe Munich. “We are expecting around 750 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and will be covering all relevant topics in the industry. The trade fair will be serving as a hub for innovation, networking, and business development. We bring the entire global market together in Munich. That’s why we attach great importance and are pleased that numbers of our exhibitors are even increasing.”

A broad selection of themes will be highlighted this year: “The diverse healthtech sector is a tremendously promising market. This topic will also take centre stage at automatica 2025. One of the highlights, alongside the MedtecLIVE Healthtech Pavilion, is the MedtecSUMMIT. From 25-26 June, the event will showcase the enabling technology for automation and robotics in healthcare, with a focus on logistics and clinical robotics.”

Challenges

“Further central focus topics of automatica 2025 are Digitalisation and AI, Sustainable Production, and Future of Work. These themes reflect the most important challenges and developments in industrial automation.”

automatica 2025 will bring together a diverse range of participants, including leading robotics and automation companies, research institutions, and innovative startups. Major market leaders such as ABB, Agile Robots, Estun, FANUC, Kawasaki, KUKA, Neura Robotics, Stäubli, Universal Robots and Yaskawa will showcase their latest innovations. The event will also feature academic and research institutions contributing to the advancement of robotics technology. By uniting top-tier companies and emerging innovators, automatica provides a dynamic platform for collaboration and business opportunities.

Insights

Schneider continues: “Visitors to automatica 2025 can gain valuable insights into robotics and automation. They can explore the latest technological innovations firsthand, with exhibitors showcasing advancements in robotics, AI, and automation through live demonstrations of cutting-edge solutions. automatica also shows that robots are increasingly easy to operate, making them more and more attractive for SMEs and entirely new fields of application.”

In addition, the supporting program puts among others a spotlight on mobile and service robotics within the framework of offerings such as the Mobile Robots in Production: Mesh-Up special show or highlights the different aspects of robotics and AI. One of the highlights of the supporting programme is munich_i with a high-tech summit – top-level event in the field of AI and Robotics – on Tuesday, 24 June 2025.

Keynotes

automatica offers a total of ten showcases and stages with over 250 keynotes, panel discussions, lectures and live demonstrations. Two parallel trade fairs complement the automatica programme and offer components, systems and applications in the field of photonics: Laser World of Photonics focuses on photonics, while the World of Quantum is dedicated to the trends, innovations and visions of quantum technology. With one trade fair ticket, visitors automatically gain access to the other two events.

This way automatica addresses several global challenges: “automatica 2025 highlights solutions for a sustainable and efficient future. A key focus is the labor shortage, where automation enhances productivity and efficiency. The event also showcases energy-efficient automation and eco-friendly production, improving supply chain resilience.”

“Beyond industry, automatica explores robotics in healthcare and aging societies, supporting medical professionals, rehabilitation, and assisted living.”

Startups

The event also caters to newcomers/ and tartups: “The event is designed not only for established industry leaders but also for newcomers and startups looking to enter the field of automation and robotics. A third of the exhibitors are new to the event, including Delta Electronics, Dobot Europe and Shenyang SIASUN Robot & Automation. In 2025, HANWHA ROBOTICS, HD HYUNDAI ROBOTICS, and Reis Robotics will also be exhibiting at automatica.”

The trade fair offers a dedicated startup area, providing emerging companies with the opportunity to present their innovations to a global audience. Through startup pitches, entrepreneurs can showcase their solutions to potential investors, industry leaders, and partners, increasing their chances of securing funding and business collaborations.

“By fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, automatica encourages fresh ideas and groundbreaking developments in robotics and automation. This focus on emerging talent ensures the industry remains dynamic and forward-looking, continuously evolving to meet future demands.”
