Circus First Robotics Company to Join German AI Association

by Pieter Werner

Circus SE, a provider of AI-powered software and robotics for the food service industry, has joined the German Association of Artificial Intelligence Companies. The move positions Circus as the first company focused on embodied AI to become a member of the association, which represents over 400 AI companies and is regarded as the largest AI network in Germany.

Based in Munich and Berlin, Circus SE is publicly listed on the XETRA exchange under the symbol CA1. The company develops autonomous physical systems that combine robotics with intelligent software, with applications across the food service supply chain. Its membership in the association aligns with its strategy to engage in regulatory discussions and contribute to the development of AI innovation frameworks across Europe.

Circus CEO Nikolas Bullwinkel stated that joining the association provides access to regulatory developments and innovation networks, reinforcing the company’s position within the European AI sector. The German AI Association, which advocates for ethical and sustainable AI development in line with European digital policy goals, welcomed the company’s participation in shaping future regulatory conditions.

The announcement follows Circus SE’s acquisition of Fully AI and its previous collaborations with Meta in areas such as AI safety and model guidance. The company continues to expand its AI-native operating system and robotics platform, CA-1, which underpins its autonomous infrastructure for the food service industry.
