CES: New Humanoid Robot from CASBOT

by Marco van der Hoeven

At CES, CASBOT has launched a full-size biped humanoid robot, CASBOT 01. The robot, referred to by the nickname “Wednesday,” showcases advanced bionic design and dynamic force control technology. CASBOT 01 stands 1.79 meters tall, weighs 60 kilograms, and is equipped with 52 degrees of freedom and a computing power of 550 TOPS, enabling it to perform 550 trillion operations per second.

The robot is designed for over four hours of continuous operation. Its capabilities include standing, walking, running, and jumping, as well as performing detailed tasks such as organizing clothing, assembling furniture, changing light bulbs, and handling screws.

The robot’s design combines mechanical engineering with organic aesthetics, supported by high-strength materials and a reinforced hollow structure to ensure stability and impact resistance. Its bionic hands and advanced joint systems are designed for precision and adaptability, meeting the requirements of multi-scenario use in industries such as manufacturing, aviation, smart homes, and emergency rescue.

CASBOT 01 integrates sensors in its head, allowing for visual and auditory interaction. The company has also implemented a self-developed high-efficiency joint system and advanced training models to improve the robot’s intelligence and flexibility. These features aim to enhance operational precision and adaptability across various applications.

In September 2024, CASBOT partnered with Lenovo to deploy humanoid robots at Lenovo’s intelligent manufacturing facilities. To support broader industry adoption, CASBOT is opening its foundational skills library to partners, enabling the development of more refined and specialized skills tailored to industry needs.
