CES: iXi Robotics introduces autonomous golf trolley

by Pieter Werner

iXi Robotics, a division of Botronics, introduced its autonomous golf trolley at CES 2025, combining advanced artificial intelligence and on-the-go analytics to transform the golfing experience. The product, named iXi, is described as the first self-driving trolley of its kind, offering golfers hands-free convenience and real-time performance insights.

Equipped with GPS mapping and AI-powered camera systems, the iXi adheres to golf etiquette by avoiding hazards such as water features, bunkers, and greens while seamlessly following the player. Eric Piraux, co-founder of Botronics, highlighted the trolley’s intuitive control system and safety features, emphasizing its ability to navigate the course effectively.

The iXi’s onboard camera records swings and delivers statistical feedback in real time, allowing players to assess and improve their game during play. A waterproof 3.5-inch touchscreen display provides shot distance tracking, club selection data, and ball position mapping. Additionally, the AI-driven caddy feature functions as a digital stroke assistant, offering insights to refine gameplay.

The trolley’s design prioritizes stability and maneuverability, featuring a low center of gravity and a broad wheelbase capable of handling slopes up to 25 degrees. Charles Hirsch, founder of Numeca Computational Fluid Dynamics, a partner in the iXi’s development, described the product as a significant advancement for golfers aiming to enhance precision and performance on the course.
