Locus Robotics has reported that its autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) have collectively picked four billion units across its global customer deployments. This figure, reached just six months after surpassing three billion picks, illustrates the company’s recent expansion in warehouse automation services.
Founded in 2015, Locus Robotics initially took nearly seven years to reach its first billion picks. Since then, demand has accelerated, with two billion picks achieved by August 2023, three billion by April 2024, and four billion by October 2024. Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics, emphasized the growth in adoption, attributing it to the company’s global workforce and expanding customer base.
Industry analyst Reuben Scriven, Research Manager at Interact Analysis, noted that the increasing rate of picks highlights the scalability of AMR solutions and the broader logistics sector’s shift toward automated technology that complements human labor.
Additionally, Locus Robotics has recently opened its global headquarters, Locus Park, in Wilmington, Massachusetts, now home to hundreds of employees. The company’s multi-bot AMR solution integrates with various warehouse infrastructures, aiming to increase productivity without requiring extensive workflow changes.
