The 2024 World Manufacturing Convention, held at the Hefei Binhu International Convention and Exhibition Center in Hefei, Anhui Province, brought together global enterprises and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on developments in humanoid robotics. The event showcased advancements in automation, quantum computing, and green energy, emphasizing the future direction of the manufacturing industry.

A key feature of the convention was the presentation of the “Qijiang No.2” humanoid robot by Jianghuai Advance Technology Center. Standing at 1.8 meters and weighing 60 kilograms, the robot has 38 degrees of freedom, enabling it to perform various tasks. It demonstrated the ability to handle operations such as folding clothes, opening bottles, pouring water, and moving across uneven terrain. These demonstrations reflect the role of humanoid robots in increasing automation and enhancing intelligent systems in the manufacturing process.

Other sections of the convention also highlighted different technologies. The 3D Printing Zone exhibited detailed mechanical components and artworks, showing the potential of 3D printing in manufacturing. The display of the “Origin Wukong” superconducting quantum computer focused on the growing use of advanced computing in research and industry, while the Green Manufacturing Zone featured energy-saving technologies aimed at reducing emissions and promoting sustainable development.

The event provided a forum for industry leaders to discuss technological advancements, showcase their capabilities, and explore opportunities for collaboration, with a particular focus on the role of humanoid robots and other technologies in shaping the future of the manufacturing sector.
