OSARO, specializing in machine-learning-enabled robotics for e-commerce, has announced the hiring of Brent Barcey as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. Barcey brings with him 25 years of experience in e-commerce, warehousing, and logistics, transitioning from his previous role at Plus One Robotics, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Before his tenure at Plus One Robotics, he was the Executive Director of Global Sales at FANUC America Corporation.
This strategic appointment coincides with OSARO’s recent partnership with IHI Logistics & Machinery Corporation, based in Tokyo. The collaboration emerges during a period of rapid growth in the e-commerce market, which is exerting considerable pressure on fulfillment centers to enhance operational efficiencies and meet escalating customer expectations.
Derik Pridmore, CEO of OSARO, highlighted Barcey’s extensive background in sales and business development within the robotics industry as a valuable addition to the team. Pridmore emphasized that Barcey’s deep understanding of the global e-commerce landscape and the critical role of automation in fulfilling customer demands will play a significant role in driving OSARO’s growth.
In his new role, Barcey will lead the company’s efforts to expand its commercial reach and continue its development of automated e-commerce fulfillment solutions. OSARO’s AI robotic software supports a range of automation solutions that aim to alleviate labor challenges and reduce costs by automating tasks such as depalletizing, inventory management, and packaging at fulfillment centers. Barcey expressed enthusiasm about joining OSARO at a crucial stage in its evolution, noting the company’s intelligent robotic solutions and their potential to transform fulfillment center operations through enhanced flexibility, adaptability, and quick deployment capabilities.
