Dassault Systèmes and KUKA have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing robotics and automation efficiency for manufacturing industries. Under the agreement, Dassault Systèmes is integrating its 3DEXPERIENCE platform into KUKA’s mosaixx digital ecosystem, providing KUKA customers with streamlined access to virtual twin technology and industrial software solutions.
The collaboration is expected to support the development of more adaptable and efficient automation solutions by leveraging real-time simulation, analysis, and digital twin capabilities. Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform is widely used across industrial sectors for designing, simulating, and engineering products and processes before physical implementation.
KUKA launched mosaixx in 2024 as an open cloud-based platform designed to facilitate digitalization and automation in manufacturing. The platform provides system integrators and engineers with access to various industrial software solutions, supporting automation initiatives across multiple machine types and manufacturers.
The global market for industrial robot installations is valued at approximately $16.5 billion, with more than four million robots operating in factories worldwide as of 2024. The number of annual installations is projected to reach 718,000 by 2026, driven by trends such as artificial intelligence and energy efficiency.
Executives from both companies emphasized the benefits of the partnership. Quirin Goerz, CEO of KUKA Digital, highlighted the potential for engineers to conduct real-time simulations and analyses, while Gian Paolo Bassi, Senior Vice President at Dassault Systèmes, pointed to opportunities for collaboration across industries, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, and logistics.
The partnership was announced at Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE World event in Houston, which focuses on the SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE platform user community.
